On November 15, 2025, the Lord called Verna Winsock home.
Verna Winsock, 55 yrs of age, from Pittston, PA, passed away 11/15/25 after a short battle from lung cancer.
Born in Pittston, she was the youngest child & daughter of the late Frank & Eleanor (Cerulli) Winsock.
Verna was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School of 1988.
Verna furthered her education at McCann School of Business.
Throughout Verna's life she had an extraordinary love for all animals, especially dogs and cats.
Verna was a selfless and compassionate person who donated 25 years of volunteer service to The Giving Tree Program through the Wyoming Area Catholic School in Exeter, PA. Verna took the role of a volunteer coordinator very seriously and worked with dilligence.
She was a member of St. Anthony/St. Barbara's of Padua Parish in Exeter, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Verna is survived by eight siblings as follows: Frank Winsock & Kathy Miller from Tower City; James and Angie Winsock from Montrose;' Michael and Kim Winsock from Watkins Glen, NY.; Ann Winsock Meszczynski and Edmund Meszczynski from Shavertown, Sharon Winsock from Pittston; Beverly Winsock and Ronald Gorki of Kingston; Linda Winsock (Sal) of Duryea; and Janine Winsock of Selingsgrove. She will be missed by all especially her nieces and nephews April Goodlavage, David Winsock, Michael Winsock, Edmund Francis and Taylor Meszczynski, Tyler Sokoloski, Ryan Gorki and great nephews, Henry and Bridger Meszczynski.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:30 AM from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, PA 18644, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Anthony/St. Barbaras of Pauda Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter.
Interment follows at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, PA.
