Stanley Slezak, 75, of Wyoming, Kingston Twp., passed away in the early morning hours of October 31, 2025.
He was the son of the late Stanley W. Slezak and Dorothy VanLuvender Slezak.
A 1968 graduate of Pittston Area High School, he briefly attended Luzerne County Community College. Stan also served in the PA National Guard at Fort Indiantown Gap. For many years he was self-employed as owner and operator of Stan Slezak's auto sales and Service in Avoca. When used car sales became untenable, he branched out and began working as a district sales representative several food service companies, first in Harrisburg then a few in Lackawanna County. For a short stint in 2007-2008 he worked in Toyota Sales at Motorworld. Most recently, he was employed as a lobbyist for NFIB, a national organization that protect small business owners. Music was an important part of his life for a lot of years. From his mid-teens to late twenties, he performed with a couple of different groups, but most prominent was as a lead guitarist with a group known as Four Way Street. Prior to being sidelined with a bad hip he was an avid golfer. The Yankees were his favorite baseball team, and he shared a love of the Pittsburgh Steelers with his wife who actually knew more about the team than he did, something he had no shame in admitting.
He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Gayle Delano Slezak and their loving fur baby Oliver. Stan has two children: Christopher and his wife Sabrina of Chase and Shelley and her husband Chris Schulze of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Juliana Pollits; Callan, Finn and Liam (Deceased) Schulze. He is also survived by his brother Bernard and his wife Marilyn of Daleville.
Arrangement are entrusted to Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
A Mass of Christian Burial is being planned by the family and will take place in the spring.
Should anyone wish to make a donation in his name, please consider helping the fur babies at Blue Chip Animal Farms Rescue, 974 Lockville Rd., Dallas, PA 18612.
