It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sam “Sammy” Brosso, 77, of Shavertown on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

He was born in West Pittston in 1946 to the late Sam and Regina Brosso.

Sammy graduated from West Pittston High School in 1964 and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business from Lackawanna College. Sam was a member of the Local 163 IBEW for 50 years. Throughout his life, Sammy dedicated himself to his career, working with dedication and passion as an electrician and later as an educator, for 20 years, in the electrical department at Luzerne County Community College.
Sammy was a man of great integrity and kindness. Known for his giving nature and willingness to help others, Sammy was always ready to lend a hand and share a smile. His infectious laughter and warm presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. Sammy will be remembered fondly by his surviving relatives, including his beloved spouse of 50 years, Rosalie “Lee” (Dellarte) Brosso, his brother Frank Brosso, nephew Frankie Brosso, and niece Mary Gable. Sam’s legacy of generosity, compassion, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace. Love you, Sam.
