Robert J. Smith, 67, of Exeter, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in 1956 to the late Leo and Elizabeth (Stokas) Smith. Robert graduated from West Pittston High School in 1974. He started his career in property management and went on to work on grounds and maintenance for the PSP Wyoming for 34 years. Robert enjoyed spending quality time with his beautiful wife, Gene, of 44 years. Some of his favorite times included hunting & collecting antiques with his sons, exploring new places with his daughter Christina, and loving every moment with his grandchildren. He was a well loved coach for Exeter Little League. Robert was a member the Parish Of Saint Barbara, and Corpus Christi Parish.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Pamela Smith.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Gene (Allegrucci) Smith, children, Christina (Paul) Moxen of Exeter; Robert (Kimberly) Smith of Wyoming, Matthew (Tiffany) Smith of West Wyoming; grandchildren, Parker, Matthew, Breyelle, Riley and PJ, brother, Michael (Betty Anne) Smith and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at 10:30AM from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Anthony of Padua Church of St. Barbara’s Parish, 224 Memorial Street, Exeter.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, November 26 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc. 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations can be made in Robert’s name to Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, 1133 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, PA 18704. This is a nonprofit organization for autism that he held close to his heart.
