Richard L. Purcell, formerly of Exeter passed away Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Shamokin, son of the late Raymond Purcell and Delma (Hummel) Purcell. He was a graduate of Shamokin High School and was employed by Prime Inc., Pittston Twp., as a dispatcher. Richard was a Redskins fan…loved to shoot pool and ride his motorcycle.

Surviving is his wife, Erin (Murdoch) Purcell, daughter Loni Purcell, MD, son Nick Purcell, Milton, daughter Raylee Purcell, Exeter, grandchildren, mothers-in-law Elaine Fiorini and father-in-law Tom Fiorini, Wyoming, father-in-law Ray Murdoch and mother-in-law Sissy Murdoch, Harding.

A celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 2, at Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home, 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming at 7pm with Laura Lewis Emmett officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 7 in the funeral home.
