Martin F Dooley, 84, of Lake Ariel, passed away, Saturday at Hospice of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late John Dooley and the late Marian (Kamor) Dooley. Martin graduated from Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1954, and Penn State University, Class of 1957, with an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to serve our country in the United States Army as a Specialist and later in the US Army Reserve.

Marty was employed by Exxon Research for almost 40 years as a Field Test Coordinator specializing in the testing of experimental synthetic oil. He was one of the pioneers in this field with credit for a United States patent.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Charles Dooley, his sister Ann Marie Frunzi, brother-in-law Joseph Frunzi and nephew Michael Mancini. He is survived by his niece Ann Marie (Cricket) Meinssen, husband Klaus and their children. Also surviving are nephew John Gerald Dooley; sister-in-law Mary Ann Dooley and many cousins and friends.

Marty lived a fun, interesting and exciting life traveling, playing golf, boating and enjoying the great outdoors at Lake Wallenpaupack. He was a member of Woodloch Springs, the Penn State Alumni Society and loved watching Penn State Football.

Marty was a kind, considerate, caring and loving person. He was a cousin to many but an uncle to all; his friends were family to him.

A tremendous thank you to special friends Michael and Judy Schrecongost for their care, concern, support and help given to Marty. Also, thank you to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their help in his final days.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 13,2021, 10 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston with Msgr. John Sempa, Celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. John the Baptist Slovak Cemetery in Exeter.

Arrangements are by the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
