John William “Kat” Katrenicz
87 of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Son of the late John and Anna Sokol Katrenicz.
A Navy Veteran, John served 33 years in the Pennsylvania State Police and over a decade in the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department.
John was Born in Larksville, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of King’s College.
John enjoyed softball, bowling, golf and many other hobbies.
An artist, man of faith, and avid traveler, he embodied his nickname “Jack” of all trades.He was a man of quick wit and goofiness to match.
John was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Elizabeth Katrenicz. His sisters Eleanor Brutko and Dorothy Sowa also preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife Carol Roman Katrenicz, her children Janet Roman, her son Joseph Roman and grandchildren.
His daughter Mollie Ann Katrenicz, granddaughter Sara Elizabeth Ann Katrenicz, and daughter Laura Kay Katrenicz.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home, Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Father Peter Tomczak will do a blessing at 6:00 p.m.
