John F. Thompson

John “Yogi” Thompson, 75, of Monroe Twp., passed away on Monday December 18, 2023, at his home.

He was born in 1948 to the late Mark R. and Jean (Williamson) Thompson.

John was a 1969 graduate of Scranton Tech. He enlisted in the United States Navy as a Corpsman and went on to attend Johnson Jr. College. John was employed most recently at the Housing Authority in Tunkhannock. He was a proud supporter of the Robotics Team at Tunkhannock High School. He enjoyed playing poker with friends and traveling with his wife.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn (Hadsall) Thompson.

John is survived by son, Matthew of Tunkhannock, siblings, Mark Thompson (Linda) of Nashville, TN, Scott Thompson (Tish) of Maryville, TN, Robert Thompson (Susan) of Falls, PA, Robin Bowling of Buffalo, NY, Ross Thompson (Wendy) of Edwardsville, PA. He was further survived by thirteen Hadsall in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Visitation and Remembrance will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, 5-8 PM at Nulton Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Twp.

Interment will follow at the convenience of the family, Beaumont Cemetery, Harveys Lake, PA.
