Joann Wright

Joann Wright 68, of Noxen, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in her home.

Joann was born in Kingston, to Emory John Wright and the late Audrey Shupp Wright.

Joann graduated from Tunkhannock High School and Wilkes-Barre Vocational Technical School. She started her career as a LPN at the Mercy Center for a time and went on to work for the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Association until she retired in 2002. She was an active member of the Bowmans Creek united Methodist church and was part of the Women's Bible Study at the Noxen Bible church , and used her musical talents to play guitar for worship. Joann also volunteered at the food pantry.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Nathan LaBar (Jackie) of Noxen; daughters, Carrie Meluskey (Joe Palotas) of Carlisle; and Danae Miller (Phillip) of Dallas. She will be missed by her 7 grandchildren and companion dog, Gabe. Also surviving are siblings John Wright of Monroe Twp., and Cheryl Maculloch (Gene) of Hunlock Creek.

The Funeral service for Joann will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, 11 AM at Bowmans Creek Free Methodist Church, 6462 PA 309, Monroe Twp.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 23 from 10AM until the time of service, at the church.

Interment will follow at Orcutt Grove Cemetery, Noxen, PA.

Arrangements are entrusted to Nulton Kopcza Funeral Home, 5749 SR 309, Monroe Twp.
