Jeanette Barkovitz

Jeanette Ebert Barkovitz 87, of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Serenity Care Personal Care Community, Kingston.

She was born in Dorannce to the late Anthony and Verna Sutcavage Ebert.

Jeanette graduated from Coughlin High School and went on to begin working at The Lamp Factory in Wilkes-Barre. She later became an usher at Pocono Downs. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Plains.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette is preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Kopcza.

Jeanette is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Joseph Barkovitz, children, Cheryl (Barry) Kotch of Wyoming; Michelle (Jim) Scalese of Throop; Jenny (George) Blauer of Wilkes-Barre; siblings, Virginia (Ginger) Rocograndi of Kingston; Antoinette (Robert) Pisicchio of Easton; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 24, 2026, 10:30 AM, at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Rd., Plains. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of mass.
