Hummelstown

Gregory “Gregg” J. Newman, 68, passed away peacefully in his home with his wife and son at his side.

Born in West Pittston, PA, residing in Hummelstown, PA for 24 years with his wife and son. His family was the joy of his life especially his son Matthew, of whom he is intensely proud.

Gregg was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus.

Gregg loved God, life, nature, working on electronics, and was an avid outdoorsman. Gregg always had a positive outlook and spirit in life despite illness. Gregg encourages all to keep laughing and smiling.

Preceding him in death are parents Mary A. (Buczynski) Newman and H. Thomas Newman, as well as brother Thomas J. Newman.

Surviving are his wife, Karen (McDonnell) Newman, and his children, Matthew Newman and Susie Riley.

Additionally, siblings Gerard Newman, Jean Marie Newman, Robert Newman, Mary Newman, and Suzanne Rudat. As well as a large extended family of Gregg and Karen’s with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Monday July 22, 2024, at 9am from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30am in St. joseph Marello Parish at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 237 William Street Pittston.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call Sunday July 21, 2024 from 3-6pm in the funeral home.
