Gerald N Venetz, 82, of West Pittston passed away on Thursday, June 16 at his home.

Born in W Wyoming, son of the late Charles Venetz and Florence (Huddlson) Venetz. Gerald was a 1958 graduate of West Wyoming High School. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He was employed at Proctor and Gamble for 27 years and worked as a crossing guard for Wyoming Area School District for over 10 years. He was a member of Valley Lodge #499 of West Pittston, a Red Cross Volunteer, and a member of the West Pittston Fire Department. He belonged to The Salvation Army Church formerly of West Pittston.

Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy (Sherwood), and brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his children; Florence Venetz of Hughstown, Robert Venetz and wife Terri of East Stroudsburg, Lisa Shannon of Pittston, nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews

Funeral service will be held Monday June 20, 2022, at 11am in the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with Major Cheryl Hershey of the Salvation Army officiating.

Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton with military honors
