Charles John (Jack) Patton

June 24, 2022

Charles John (Jack) Patton, affectionally known as Pop to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, 88, of Beaumont passed away Friday June 24th, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., three days after celebrating his 70th wedding anniversary with his wife, Shirley.

Born July 21, 1933, in Plains he was the son of the late Derwin H. Patton and Jennie McMillan Patton. Growing up in Buckwheat Hollow Jack was always up for a quick baseball game with his brother and the Crispell boys. If not playing ball, Jack could usually be found helping the local farmers with their chores or helping to put in hay.

Within two weeks of graduating from Beaumont High School in 1952, Jack had married his high school sweetheart Shirley Kozak and started a new job. He would spend his entire 44yr working career as a tool and dye maker for Bendix Corporation in South Montrose until their closing. After retirement Jack and Shirley could be found traveling out west with his brother Derwin and his wife Alice or spending winters in Florida with good friends. A favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg, Tn. He was also fortunate enough to visit his Grandson, Keith and his family out in California. Jack enjoyed hunting and was a member of the South Mountain Land Association.

We will miss his quick smile and having the opportunity to hear his many stories about the good ole days.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was his son, David S. Patton, great grandsons Garrett and Gage Wilson, his brother Derwin Jr. and brother-in-law Robert Condon.

Surviving is his wife, Shirley, daughter Mary Ann (Larry) Wilson, Northmoreland Twp., son John (Ann) Beaumont, grandchildren Scott (Nicol) Wilson, Beaumont, Keith (Johnell) Wilson, New Castle California, Marissa (David) Brace, Swoyersville, Alicia (Zachary) Cerankowski, Elizabethtown. Great Grandchildren, Cole Wilson, Kelci Wilson, Carli Wilson, Riley Wilson, Olivia Wilson, Kaitlyn Wilson, Ella Brace and Jackson Cerankowski, sister Alice Jane Condon and Peg (Dave) Weiss and sister-in-law Alice Patton, several nieces and nephews.
