Catherine Ann Kopcza 79, of Wyoming passed away Sunday April 20, 2025, in the Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scranton.
Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Verna (Sutcavage) Ebert. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and Jerrytone Beauty School formerly of Pittston. For many years she owned and operated her own hair salon in Wyoming. After closing her hair styling salon, she began working for Visiting Nurses Association as a traveling aid and later moved to the inpatient hospice unit which was located in Wilkes-Barre. After 57 years of marriage, she lost her husband Joe in 2023 the love of her life. They enjoyed going to restaurants and enjoying a great meal and maybe getting some dancing in with friends. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She was a devoted catholic and member of St. Monica's Parish of West Wyoming.
Surviving are children Joseph A. Kopcza III (Karen), Wyoming; Anthony Kopcza (Mindy), Hamlin; Cathy Paukovitz((Dave) Fort Mill, S.C; grandchildren; Joshua, Seth and Alyssa Kopcza; Jake and Melinda Kopcza; and Lindsay, Samuel and Benjamin Paukovitz; sisters; Jeanette Barkovitz (Joe); Wilkes-Barre; Virginia "Ginger" Roccograndi, Forty-Fort; Antoinette Pisicchio (Robert) several nieces and nephews
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 9:30am from the Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc 504 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming with a Mass of Christian Burial At 10am in St. Monica's Parish 363 West 8th Street West Wyoming with Father Peter Tomczak celebrant.
Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday, April 25, 2025, 6-8pm in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 30 E.D. Preate Drive, Suite 108, Moosic, PA 18507.
